The first trailer for Top Five has landed and Chris Rock is back behind the camera for his third directorial effort. The comedy sees the veteran comedian play a satirical version of himself, a comedic actor named Andre Allen who has decided to drop the jokes in lieu of a more serious acting career. When journalist Chelsea Brown (Rosario Dawson) elects to do a story on Andre, it forces him to reassess the life he has abandoned.

Top Five’s trailer promises a slew of comedians such as JB Smoove, Kevin Hart, Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer. It appears as though Chris has no qualms with poking fun at himself and being surrounded by a great cast and some genuinely funny moments like the ones glimpsed at here, Top Five looks to be an interesting and potentially hilarious film.

Top Five is directed by Chris Rock (I Think I Love My Wife, Head of State) and produced by hip-hop stars Jay-Z & Kanye West.

Top Five is scheduled for release in Australia on the 29th of January.
