The Iris’ Larry Heath caught up with Will Ferrell, star of the new film Get Hard, at the film’s premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas. It was the actor’s first time at SXSW, “it’s wild to see it unfold,” he said. He spoke about the film, whether he’d be ready for jail after being a part of the film, and, oddly enough, Star Wars.

When speaking about Get Hard, Ferrell said “It was a premise we were all excited about… Just dealing with the abject fear and terror of how you would respond if you got that news that you were going to prison…” He also mentioned the benefit of working with the writer and said: “It’s a fun movie to get to comment on our perceptions and misconceptions from a racial standpoint… While we got to be funny we got to be satirical at the same time…”

Get Hard is scheduled for release in Australia on March 26, 2015.
