ACMI to screen 35mm restored print of Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather trilogy from September 20-28

The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is partnering with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS) to bring Francis Ford Coppola’s Godfather trilogy back to the big screen this month. The 35mm restored print of the epic crime saga will screen at ACMI from Saturday September 20 until Sunday September 28, with each film in the trilogy screening twice during this period. The restored prints have come straight from the Academy Film Archive in Los Angeles.

Released in 1972, 1974 and 1990, The Godfather Part I, Part II and Part III are generally considered to be one of the greatest trilogies ever produced, with the first two films both winning the Oscar for Best Picture. The chance to see Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro’s legendary performances on the big screen is not to be missed. This is an incredibly rare chance to revisit these masterpieces on the big screen, or an incredible way to see them for the first time. Don’t miss out!

The Godfather Trilogy will screen at ACMI in Federation Square from September 20 to 28. Head to to book tickets.
