Victoria’s biggest movie and comic event is back for 2015. Returning to the Melbourne Showground on the 18th and the 19th of October, this year’s Australian Movie and Comic Expo (AMC, formerly known as the Armageddon Australia) is giving fans chances to meet and greet local and international guests from hit movies, TV shows and comics and enjoy some fun, nerdy and family activities that all ages can enjoy.
This year, AMC have gathered a great pool of actors and celebrities famous for their work in geek and nerd culture, from hit shows like Stargate and Agents of Shields to classic movies like Back to the Future and Stand and Deliver. For the nostalgic fans, this year’s line up celebrates decades of good television, including Get smart’s Bernie Kopell, Back to the Future’s Claudia Wells and The Flash’s John Wesley Shipp and many more. Other guest highlights include:
- Lou Diamond Phillips – La Bamba, Young Guns, Stargate Universe
- Jemma Redgrave – Dr Who
- Rick Cosnett – The Vampire Diaries and The Flash
- Maggie Roswell – voice of Maude Flanders, Helen Lovejoy, Ms. Hoover, and others in 28 seasons of The Simpsons
- Hal Rayle – voice of Miss Piggy and Gonzo for the Muppet Monsters, the voice of the Tin Man for the Land of Oz (animated), as well as a host of characters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, Superman, 101 Dalmatians and more.
Being more than just a celebrity fest, the event also offers gaming, fantasy, multimedia and family events, such as free comic book give-away, live quittich, laser tag, lego exhibitions and movie car displays featuring the Batmobile and the Delorean! Fans will be treated to a never done before centre floor feature, live entertainment, cosplay competitions, movie prop displays and plenty more activities for everyone to enjoy.
Tickets are now available at $12 for children and $30 for adults.
