Its 2018. Various countries are celebrating pay equality, women empowerment movements are everywhere but yet, the video games industry has yet to catch up. While we are here, be it in the media or development-side, there aren’t nearly enough of us. Despite what you hear, the video games industry is still very much a man’s world.
Like quite a number of people, I was excited yet a little skeptical when Sony announced a new installment to the venerable God of War series. Was Santa Monica Studios going to roll out the same game but in a different skin? I got to be among the first in the world to find out, getting some personal hands-on time with Santa Monica Studios’ God of War and the amount of excitement I feel is right now is hard to explain. Although I only got to play the first three hours of this installment (for now), it’s given me plenty to talk about. It’s a new year, which means that there’s gonna be a lot of new releases. Its also 2018, which means that we’re gonna get our hands on soo many amazing titles. It was hard enough to narrow my list down to just 5 games, but these are the ones that I know with 100% certainty that I will spend just all the weekends with playing (and probably crying). Continue reading 5 video games we’re looking forward to in 2018

I’ve never personally played the original Ni No Kuni, but I was told that although this is a sequel to the series, it does not pick up the story from the previous game and you play completely new characters in the completely new world of Ding Dong Dell. Continue reading PSX17SEA: Hands on: Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom (PS4)
Being a massive fan of Quantic Dream’s previous titles like Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, as soon as I got into the venue, I made a beeline to the booth. The demo on the floor was the same available at E3, where you play as Connor, an android negotiator working with the Detroit PD on site to subdue an android gone berserk and try to save a hostage. Continue reading PSX17SEA: Hands on: Detroit: Become Human (PS4)
I’m a massive, massive fan of the Marvel vs Capcom series. It’s almost definitely my most favourite game in the fighting genre. Mostly because I could use Resident Evil’s Albert Wesker to kick major butt (my gamertag is inspired by him). When I heard that Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite would be available to play at the event, I got super excited, it’s been six years since Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was released. When I heard that the producers of the series were going to present the features of the game, I got even more excited. But the best part of my hands-on experience though? I was one of three people who got to try out the game against ‘promotion producer’ Tomoaki Ayano, and one of the two to win. Continue reading PSX17SEA Hands on: Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite (PS4)

The time has finally come! After skipping out on having a conference at E3 this year, professional heart-breakers Telltale Games have finally dropped their 2017 update straight out of Comic-Con and it’s pretty big. In a style similar to Nintendo’s, they’ve released a video announcing new seasons of three beloved titles and that one of them will be a series finale. So grab a box of tissues (and/or a stress-ball), these are the three titles coming out over the next 12 months. Continue reading Telltale’s Summer 2017 update: The three bombs they just dropped.
