Bring a change of pants: Stephen King’s It gets its first trailer

The second attempt at adapting Stephen King’s terrifying thriller It to the screen is only a few months away. And there’s no better time than now to put everyone on edge with its debut trailer.

Fear grips the small town of Derry, Maine when kids start to go missing with some even turning up murdered. A group of kids band together after all being stalked by a clown named Pennywise and attempt to banish the century old evil once and for all.

Directed by Andrés Muschietti (Mama) It stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise. The kids (known as “the losers club” in the book) are played by Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor , Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff and Jack Dylan Grazer.

It is based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel and is regarded as not only his scariest, but arguably his best work.

The book has already seen an adaptation, albeit on the small screen in the form of of 2-part mini-series in 1990. Although dated now, the series was received well and positioned Pennywise as a horror icon thanks to Tim Curry’s incredible performance.

It releases in Australian cinemas on 7th September 2017.
