In addition to Star Wars Land, which was also announced today at Disney’s D23 Expo in California, Orlando’s Hollywood Studios will be seeing another 11 acre expansion in the form of Toy Story Land. Unlike Star Wars Land, however, Toy Story Land has already been a tested formula among Disney Parks in Paris and Hong Kong.

The Orlando expansion looks to be bigger in size than both of its distant cousins, and won’t see the light of day until at least 2016, as the Hong Kong location had exclusivity of the Land for “at least five years” (it opened back in 2011). At this stage, only two new rides have been announced for the land – though both seem to be exclusive to the Orlando location:
- A yet-to-be-named family-friendly roller coaster – “This coaster will zip and zoom, plunge and coast as it takes guests on a thrilling, toy-filled adventure throughout the new land on the back of Slinky Dog”.
- An alien saucers attraction – “The famous little green aliens from the movie will take guests around for a spin in their very own flying saucers”.
The land will also include the existing interactive 4D ride Toy Story Mania!, where “guests glide into the Toy Story Midway Games Play Set and take aim at 3D objects in a variety of fast-paced games”. This ride will be expanded as part of the new Land that will add an additional track to the popular attraction.
