By now its fairly common knowledge that Rare’s upcoming multiplayer pirate title Sea of Thieves would be launching on Xbox One and Windows 10. The question for PC owners after seeing the game in action during the recent beta, particularly those on lower spec machines, was “can my machine ever hope to run this thing?” The answer, according to Rare, is “yeah, it probably can.”
Rare, by their own admission, have been working on optimising the game so it can run on almost any hardware configuration imaginable, from “potato” quality machines at the lower end all the way up to the kinds of thrumming monoliths that are the domain of the hardcore.
As you can see from the sheet from Rare embedded above, you don’t need much at all to run the game on what they cheekily call “Cursed” settings below minimum spec. These specs will be suitable for most laptops from the last few years which means you can get in on the piratey action without a gaming laptop and have it run smoothly.
Sea of Thieves launches on March 20 on Xbox One and Windows 10.
