Happy Overwatch Day, everyone

Cavalry’s here, loves. It’s May 24, which means Blizzard’s long-awaited team shooter Overwatch is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and the servers are live.

For those who played the closed beta, this will feel like a bit of a homecoming. For those who only got to play the tantalisingly short open beta, it will be like the floodgates are opening. For those who haven’t gotten to play it yet, boy are you in for a treat. Or a roasting. It’s possible you will simply be roasted. But don’t worry, everyone’s on an even playing field. There’s no loadouts, no crazy OP weapon mods — you just have to learn how to use each character the right way.

21 characters. Multiple game modes. Loot boxes. Old school flavour. What more could you possibly want?

As I click the uninstall button on Team Fortress 2 this morning, as I look back on the hundreds of hours I have spent in that game, as I open up my Battle.Net loader and move the Overwatch icon to the top of the list, I think to myself “I won’t miss you one bit, Spy.”

Overwatch is available now on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
