Nintendo took to their Twitch channel overnight with a new showcase broadcast, focusing on the raft of indie content coming to the Nintendo Switch in the next 12 months. We’ve collated all the announcements and trailers for your viewing pleasure after the jump.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes
Fans of Suda51’s hyper-stylised, hyper-weird, hyper-violent Wii title No More Heroes will be pleased to discover that the game is returning to the Nintendo Switch with Suda himself in the director’s chair. It’s been ten years since that insanity came out, can you believe that?
Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition
A long-time episodic indie darling on Windows PC, Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition will mark the game’s first appearance on consoles and will also include the latest, very long-awaited instalment.
Super Meat Boy Forever
Just when you’d finally put your puzzle platforming PTSD to bed, Super Meat Boy Forever, the sequel to the 2010 smash hit indie Super Meat Boy, is on its way to the Nintendo Switch. Start practising now.
Shovel Knight: King of Cards
Shovel Knight fans rejoice (but also prepare to say goodbye). The final part of the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove Collection, a prequel tale about King Knight, will arrive in 2018.
Steamworld Dig 2
Steamworld Dig 2 actually drops on September 21, not that far away at all! It’s premiering on the Nintendo Switch ahead of other platforms, which is a nice little get for Ninty.
We, er, we’re actually really jacked up for this one, to be honest. Golf Story is exactly what it says on the tin — a sprawling RPG story about the noble/aggravating sport of golf. It looks like someone walked into a pitch meeting like “What if Pokemon but … like, golf?”
In the wake of successful experiments like ARMS, the body morphology multiplayer shooter we’ve had our eye on for a few years now is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Morphies Law alters the size of your opponent’s body parts depending on which you attack. And it’s great.
Sausage Sports Club
I … I don’t even f@#%in’ know, man. Just watch it.
Yono and the Celestial Elephants
It’s a game about an elephant that solves puzzles and blows things up. I mean, I don’t know what else you could possibly want.
A rhythm game about breakdancing children! If you’re looking for a music title on the Switch, this is it.
Ah, the physics-based bridge builder genre. It’s good to see you again, old friend. Poly Bridge is a game for the burgeoning structural engineer in your life.
An arcade side-scrolling beat-em-up about the era in which Britain was under Roman rule. Looks like a bloody, fast-paced good time.
A co-operative, twin-stick ARPG. Diablo meets Helldivers. We are super jacked up to spend some time with this one.
A game in which four players compete on a magical, Game of Thrones intro styled playing board. Light Fingers drops early next year.
