Introducing BAPFF – the inaugural Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival

bris

The inaugural Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival (BAPFF) is a 16 day event screening more than 80 films from across the region. The new program includes multi-award winning features and documentaries, highlights from the festival circuit, and a curated showcase of the best films from the Asia Pacific region.

The festival’s program champions the big and small of Asia Pacific film making, and is full of contrasts. It looks to the future of film making in the region, while also looking to the past, courtesy of retrospective screenings.

It will showcase 84 features, 1 animation compilation. 17 shorts over 120 sessions, from 38 countries.

BAPFF is a celebration of diversity, both in region and in cinema output, and runs from Nov 29th to Dec 14th at select venues across the state. Highlights include the Australian premiere of The Crow’s Egg, straight from the Toronto International Film Festival; a Women in Film panel; the Brisbane debut of the super popular Worlds Movies Secret Cinema events (from 11-14 December); and free movies on the green.

BAPFF will run at the following locations:

Palace Barracks Cinemas,
The Australian Cinémathèque at Queensland Art Gallery
Gallery of Modern Art, Sunnybank
Hoyts Cinemas
Queensland Performing Arts Centre
The Courier-Mail Piazza
