Walker Stalker, the enormous convention for fans of The Walking Dead, and its Australian debut is just around the corner now, but there’s been a few sharp changes to the line-up both good and bad. Let’s get the bad news out of the way first: Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, is no longer able to attend due to scheduling conflicts. His exit from the festival is accompanied by the cancellations of both Christian Serratos (Rosita) and Cooper Andrews (Jerry), which is a downer but has made some space for an even bigger line up.
Now replacing those three will be one of the key figures behind the monstrously successful show, Greg Nicotero, who is best known as the executive producer, director and special effects creator. He’ll be appearing across both the Melbourne and Sydney legs, joined by Steven Oog (Simon), Pollyanna McIntosh (Jadis), Tyler James Williams (Noah), and IronE Singleton (T-Dog), as well as the stars already confirmed such as Alanna Masterson (Tara) and Michael Cudlitz (Abraham).
Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel) will also be making his way down for the tour but only for the Melbourne leg, along with Michael Rooker (Merle). Meanwhile, Chandler Riggs (Carl) will now only be appearing in Sydney, along with Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).
Walker Stalker Con will hit Sydney first, held across two days on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th February in The Dome at Sydney Showgrounds. The following weekend will see Walker Stalker Con take place in Melbourne’s The Pavilion, across Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February. All dates are open to all-ages and tickets start from $79.90 (several tiers of VIP packages are also available).
In addition for photo ops and free Q&A sessions, there will be plenty of interactive entertainment across both days and both cities. Foxtel will even have a special area set up with a heavily themed compound to keep fans entertained (and on their feet).
