Need for Speed: Most Wanted is free on Origin right now

If you’ve been looking for a reason to reinstall EA’s Origin digital shopfront, one may have just presented itself. EA is handing out the 2012 reboot of Need for Speed: Most Wanted for free via the platform as part of its On the House program.

Bear in mind, this offer is only for the PC version of the game so console fans you’re left high and dry for this one. Relax, you get PSPlus and Games with Gold freebies every month.

For those running a Windows PC, all you need to have is an Origin membership. If you don’t have one, it’s free to register and any and all On the House games are permanently attached to your library.

The last game EA had up for grabs was Jade Empire, the criminally overlooked, eastern-themed Bioware RPG. Previously, titles like Dead Space, The Sims 2 and Theme Hospital have all made appearances.

You might remember that there were two NFS titles that bore the Most Wanted name. The first one came out back in 2005, was developed by EA Black Box and was the ninth game in the long-running racing series. EA then rebooted the title in 2012, putting former Burnout and Battlefield Hardline developer Criterion in charge.

On the House deals usually stick around for a few months but its hard to know when EA will pull them down. If you’re keen for this one, best get it while its hot.
