The 61st Sydney Film Festival has been dazzling the city so far with an excellent curated line-up of films. Due to popular demand, the 12-day event has announced additional screenings of three SOLD OUT sessions; all of which are on sale now. Fela Kuti documentary Finding Fela!, Australian documentary China’s 3Dreams, and Palo Alto will all enjoy one additional screening each, supplementing their hugely popular presence at this year’s festival.

“We are very happy to make these sold-out films available for even more Festival goers,” said SFF Festival Director Nashen Moodley. “Over 60 screenings and events have already sold out and we urge our patrons to book early to see these and other highlight films at the Festival.”

The life of the superstar pioneer of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti, is the focus of oscar-winning director Alex Gibney’s (We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks – SFF 2013) latest documentary Finding Fela! It will screen at Event Cinemas on Friday 13 June at 8.30pm.

China’s 3Dreams, which had its World Premiere at SFF on Sat 7 June to a rapturous response, is an absorbing Australian documentary from Nick Torrens, about the changing face of China. It screens at Event Cinemas on Saturday 14 June at 6.40pm.

Gia Coppola lives up to her family’s cinematic pedigree with an atmospheric portrait of adolescence in Palo Alto. Based on short stories by James Franco, who appears in the film, and with a score by Dev Hynes of Blood Orange, it screens at Event Cinemas on Saturday June 14 at 8.15 pm.

The 61st Sydney Film Festival runs 4-15 June 2014 and brings a packed program of screenings and special events to even more venues across Sydney. For tickets and full up-to-date program information visit sff.org.au
