After Netflix’s announcement of making Gilmore Girls available to stream in every single country possible, it made sense to why they came to the decision of it available for everyone. With the highly-anticipated four-part series of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Netflix launched the trailer on Tuesday, creating hype for fans of the dynamic mother-daughter duo, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. Bringing a nostalgic touch to the recent trailer launch, it brings on themes of romance and loss for the two women.
The trailer introduces us to the pair casually drinking coffee and walking around downtown, talking and bonding like they normally would. Yet something is different and you can feel it coming in the air as we see bits and pieces unfold with Lorelai’s father’s recent passing (for those who don’t know, Edward Herrmann acted out the role of Richard Gilmore and sadly passed away in December 2014).
They then reconnect with Emily Gilmore once again and she too feels the struggle of losing her husband, not knowing what to do next without her other half around. With Rory now grown up, of course she’s had to stumble upon a few hearthrobs in her romantic past, and you see Luke and Lorelai’s blossoming relationship. There’s a lot more substance that will bring on nostalgic memories for fans, even more so than usual for those who grew up watching the show. You can definitely tell how much the women have grown, just by looking at where they are now as individuals.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will be available to stream everywhere you can get Netflix on November 25th. You can watch the trailer below!
