Sydney Film Festival combines fine foods and film for gourmet cinema event

The Sydney Film Festival, nearing one month from its starting date, continues to make additions to the eleven-day event. This time pairing with Sydney restaurant The Bridge Room for a screen and dine event.

The gourmet cinema event will run from the 14th-15th of June and start with a screening of Ants on a Shrimp: Noma in Tokyo at 6.30 in the evening, before moving from the Dendy Opera Quays cinema to nearby The Bridge Room for a four-course meal with Eden Road Wines and 4Pines beers.

Ants on a shrimp: Noma in Tokyo will be the first time audiences are given insight into the process of celebrity chef René Redzepi, following his journey from his Copanhagen restaurant Noma (voted world’s best restaurant in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2014) to the culinary antithesis or traditional Nordic food, a completely new restaurant in Tokyo.

Moving out of their comfort zone and into an underground city kitchen, the Noma crew must balance the oriental style with their own Nordic approach to craft a new menu before the restaurant opens, which at first reservation attracts 58,000 bookings.

After the film has built fine appetites, the 2016 ‘restaurant of the year’ and home of Chef of the Year 2014 Ross Lusted will host audiences to a four-course meal in their 66-seater heritage listed restaurant, The Bridge Room.
