AMC announces premiere date for Preacher and gives Outcast a second season

The American cable service has announced the premiere dates for the upcoming Preacher and Outcast, renewing the latter for a second season.

Premiering on May 22nd, Preacher is a twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a preacher who is inhabited by a mysterious entity and bestowed with supernatural powers.

Meanwhile, Robert Kirkman’s Outcast has been greenlit for a second season – months in advance of the series’ premiere – after the pilot screened to audiences at SXSW.

The series follows a man (Patrick Fugit) who has suffered from possession all his life and is on a quest for answers with help from a hard-drinking evangelist. It’s set to debut stateside on June 3rd.

There’s no word on whether or not Preacher and Outcast will air through Foxtel alongside The Walking Dead or whether they’ll join Better Call Saul on Stan.
