Barkhad Abdi joins cast for Blade Runner film sequel

Reported by Variety, it’s been announced that Barkhad Abdi will be joining the cast for the Blade Runner film sequel.

Abdi will be joining other fellow actors including Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri and Dave Bautista.

The announcement was made by Alcon Entertainment co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.

In addition, the Blade Runner sequel will be directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) and principal photography will be scheduled to begin in July.

The film will be released by Warner Bros. with an expected U.S release on October 6, 2017. Sony Pictures will be taking care of international distribution for the film.
