Cillian Murphy and Christopher Nolan team up together (again) for Dunkirk

It’s been confirmed that Cillian Murphy and Christopher Nolan will be teaming up together again for a new  World War II action-thriller Dunkirk.

While Murphy has received substantial screen time in Batman Begins and Inception, his work in the other two Dark Knight trilogies have essentially been cameos. Hopefully his appearance in Dunkirk will lean towards the former.

Murphy joins Tom Hardy, another Nolan regular, alongside Kenneth Branagh and Bridge of Spies Oscar-winner Mark Rylance.

Nolan’s film will also feature a number of acting newcomers  with Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Aneurin Barnard, and One Direction artist Harry Styles set in the lead roles.

The film chronicles the evacuation of Dunkirk during the British military operation, saving 330, 000 Allied soldiers surrounded by German forces.

Filming on Dunkirk will begin in May as Nolan will be shooting in many of the real locations where the events took place.

Dunkirk is set for a US and UK release date on July 21, 2017.
