Supanova Interview: Gaming God Nolan North talks about his beginning, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and clowns

I shouldn’t have to say who Nolan North is, but for those few uninitiated, if you have ever played a video game in the last 25 years, there is a very big chance Nolan North voiced something or someone in that game. Nolan has been around the TV, Film and Gaming industry since 1997, first starring in General Hospital and Port Charles on TV and then lending his voice to his very first video game in Activision’s Interstate 82. Move forward over 20 years and now Nolan has become a video game icon and a gaming household name.... Continue Reading

Film Review: Deadpool 2 (USA, 2018) Gives Us The Merc With The Mouth And A Warm Fuzzy Heart

Considering the risks 20th Century Fox took in greenlighting Deadpool, the 2016 film was released and became a global success, it seemed the risk now fell on the shoulders of its sequel. Deadpool 2 markets itself as “it feels bigger” and in some ways this is true and in others it’s not. The film leans heavily into its overt crassness, gore and ridiculousness but also comes away with some surprising character development and warmth for our merc with the mouth. Interview: First Girl I Loved Director Kerem Sanga on marriage equality and the film’s Australian release

It wasn’t because it was bad film, far from it, however, it was because I had no idea what to expect and was left with the feeling of being cheated by the movie’s second half. When going in for a second viewing, however, I came to realise that the unexpected quality of First Girl I Loved is what makes it thought provoking and powerful, staying with you long after you leave the cinema.... Break out your chimichangas. Now that Deadpool is a household name, it’s only right that he gets his own TV series. FXX has ordered 10 episodes of an adult oriented animated series starring the ‘Merc with a Mouth’. To top it all off, professed comic book fan Donald Glover and his brother Stephen Glover will serve as showrunners, producers and writers for the show, fresh off the set of the critically acclaimed Atlanta.... Blu-Ray Review: Deadpool (MA15+, USA, 2016)

For a while there it looked like the only version of Deadpool we’d ever see on the big screen was the somewhat cringe-inducing one we saw in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Studio execs at Fox were unsure about how to move forward with the character and make it a viable film. But when some test footage got leaked online back in 2012 much to the surprise and rapture of fans the execs finally decided to push forward. Now some 4 years later we finally have the finished product. In the lead up there’s been a prolific marketing campaign full of gag infused trailers and promo spots, but can it truly live up to all the hype?... Continue Reading
