Film Review: Allegiant (PG) (USA, 2016)

It seems after Mockingjay Part 2, the last of The Hunger Games, people and Hollywood need to take a break from dystopias. Similar in plot, Allegiant is the latest installment in the Divergent series. The first teaser trailer is released for Allegiant – the third film in the Divergent series

The first teaser trailer for the third instalment in the YA-to-screen series Divergent has been released. Allegianpicks up where Insurgent left off and looks like it should keep fans of the series happy as we head beyond the wall. The film is being directed by Robert Schwentke and will be separating the final book in the trilogy (of the same name) – though rather than calling it “Part 1” and “Part 2”, a-la Twilight or Harry Potter, the fourth film in the series will be called Ascendant and will be released in March 2017. In the meantime, here’s the full synopsis for what is technically the first part of the Allegiant adaptation – then enjoy the first teaser!
