FOO FIGHTERS

COMPETITION WINNERS – GIANTS OF SCIENCE – ANNOUNCED AS FINAL

SUPPORT BAND FOR BRISBANE CHARITY SHOW

+ FINAL 200 TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY

Following an overwhelming number of fantastic submissions in response to the ‘Brisbane – Foo Fighters Submission’ competition, Foo Fighters are pleased to announce local band Giants Of Science will be joining the lineup this Sunday.

Selecting the winning band was a challenging but highly rewarding task given the sheer quality of the entries. A shortlist, compiled by an industry panel, was presented to Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl this afternoon from which he personally selected Giants Of Science.

Formed in 1999, Giants of Science are a rock band from Brisbane who pride themselves on heaving riffs, irrepressible rock ‘n’ roll and shoegaze guitar atmospherics with a proudly Australian undercurrent.

Their entry was chosen out of a grand total of close to 400 submissions received within the eligible timeframe of 9:00am AEST Sunday 20 March to 11:59pm AEST Monday 21 March.

Giants Of Science join Foo Fighters, You Am I and Cloud Control on Sunday in raising funds for the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.

The benefit concert sold out in just 15 minutes after going on sale Monday morning, all proceeds will go to the aforementioned relief appeal. A final release of 200 tickets will be released on sale on Friday 25 march at 9am QLD time in an effort to deter scalping. A strict limit of 2 tickets per person will apply.
