Metal Gear Online is now live on PS4 and Xbox One

Metal Gear Online, the free multiplayer component of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, has begun rolling out worldwide as of this morning. The UK was the first region to come online for both Xbox One and PS4 versions this morning. At time of writing, console servers the world over appear to be up and running.

The game has been updated here in Australia to include the Online option on the main menu (we connect through the Asia server). A second update adds online functionality to the game and once that is installed you’re good to go.

Konami is making the status of all their servers public over at the official Metal Gear Solid 5 website. The PC version is scheduled to come online in 2016.
