Mortal Kombat XL coming early March, packs in all the DLC

NetherRealm Studios has announced that Mortal Kombat X will relaunch in early March under the new name Mortal Kombat XL, a special edition that comprises all of the DLC made available for the game.

This fully-loaded version launches March 2 in Australia and New Zealand, online and at retail. WB Games confirmed will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, however the version for Windows PC was not mentioned in the announcement video or the press release. Also not mentioned was pricing of any sort. The DLC included in this pack extends from Kombat Pack 1 (already released) to Kombat Pack 2 (forthcoming). Both of these packs will run you US$29.99 (that’s about AU$43  at the time of writing).

Check out the announcement trailer embedded above. Fair warning, though, it’s pretty ridiculously gory so if you’re not into that sort of thing, avoid. That said, if you’re reading a piece on Mortal Kombat X in the first place then you likely already know what you’re in for.

Predictably, and a bit wearyingly, the trailer also includes the promise of more DLC if you pre-order.
