Movie Frenzy: rent Midway, Guns Akimbo, 1917 and more for $3 this week

Seeing as Australia is likely to be pouring with rain all weekend, the return of Movie Frenzy couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Participating services like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store will be dropping rental prices for some big-ticket new releases to $3 or less from now until Thursday 13th August.

Given the success of Movie Frenzy flash sales in the past, it’s safe to expect a push up in demand as more and more people stick to the idea of staying indoors and doing their part to stop dragging this god awful pandemic along.

And some of the films available in the sale are well worth a look. You’ve got Roland Emmerich’s American war epic Midway along with another, much better, war film in 1917. Guy Ritchie’s very, very average The Gentlemen is also up, but we suggest going for the likes of Just Mercy, The Invisible Man and Bad Boys For Life instead.

I guess The Gentlemen is still passable when compared to the worst film on the list, that being the Robert Downey Jr snore-fest Doolittle.

Other films on offer include:

Birds of Prey
Bloodshot
Jumanji: The Next Level
Like A Boss
Sonic the Hedgehog
The Informer
The Iron Mask
Jojo Rabbit
