Paper Mario: The Origami King coming to Switch in July

Paper Mario, the king of Mario RPGs, is finally back.

Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach are on their way to the kingdom’s annual origami festival, but something is amiss. Peach seems to be acting a bit strange. You might say her character has suddenly become … paper thin. All of this is surely the work of the devious King Olly, self-proclaimed ruler of the Origami Kingdom.

Mario will have to use his range of newfound abilities to save the day. One such ability, 1000-Fold Arms, allows Mario to stretch and fold the edges of the world around him to reveal hidden doors and pathways. But, Mario won’t be able to succeed alone — he’ll need the help of his oldest nemesis to defeat King Olly, Bowser himself.

Paper Mario has long been a fan favourite among Nintendo fans who love RPG’s so this news of its return is sure to cause a great deal of excitement. The last time we saw the Paper Mario series was in 2016’s Colour Splash on the Wii U. The series itself has been around since the N64 era, first released in 2000.

Paper Mario: The Origami King launches July 17, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. You can pre-order now from your preferred games retailer.
