Plantronics releases the first headset design for PlayStation VR, the RIG 4VR

Coinciding with the today’s release of the PlayStation VR (PS VR), Plantronics have revealed the first headset designed exclusively for PS VR, the Plantronics RIG 4VR.

The RIG 4VR is the first officially licensed audio headset which has been optimised for use with the PS VR. The headset aims to heighten the user’s sense and help to deliver an immersive sound experience. The headset is designed so that users will still be able to hear enough of their surroundings to ensure their VR experience remains social; while the heads brandishes a lightweight frame to ensure you VR experience is as comfortable as possible.

The RIG 4VR comes with interchangeable, different-length cables provided for use with the PlayStation VR and the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controllers. The RIG 4VR also features 40mm drivers paired with low-frequency resonators offering enhanced bass, whilst maintaining accuracy of sounds. Lastly, the removable flip-to-mute boom with noise-cancelling mic can easily be attached in conjunction with a DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller. This feature provides the user with immersive stereo audio and exceptionally clear chat functionality within PS4 games.
