Prey gets new trailer, worldwide release date

Bethesda and Arkane Studios’ upcoming reboot of supernatural shooter Prey has just dropped a brand new gameplay trailer, and unveiled its worldwide release date. Mid year is starting to look very, very interesting.

The new trailer shows ore of the protagonist Morgan Yu’s abilities, how he came to have them and the strange alien creatures he’ll be facing off against. The footage on display here is a far cry from the game’s debut last year. Also there’s a bit where old mate jams some pointy shit into his eye in first person so fair warning if you’re not into that.

The trailer ends with the announcement that the game will launch worldwide on May 5, 2017, which has it releasing just under a year after its first announcement.

While the press release sent by Bethesda points out the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack provided for preordering, no post-launch plans (if any) have been discussed as yet.

Prey releases May 5, 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
