Robert Kirkman’s Outcast to premiere on FX simultaneously worldwide; launch details revealed

FX has announced that the second season of Robert Kirkman’s Outcast will premiere on Monday, April 10, 2017.

Created by Kirkman, developed and produced by Fox Networks Group, Outcast will launch its ten-episode second season on FX in Australia as part of a worldwide simultaneous release on FOX channels in over 125 countries outside the U.S.

Outcast is based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Robert Kirkman (who also created and produces the show) and artist Paul Azaceta. Patrick Fugit stars as Kyle Barnes, a man searching for answers, and for redemption, who sequesters himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt. Philip Glenister stars as Reverend Anderson, a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil on Earth. An inveterate drinker and gambler, he doesn’t believe God intends people to sweat the small stuff.

In its second season, the mystery of what lies behind Rome’s supernatural manifestations continues. As the possessions that have plagued Barnes, grow in scope and number, Kyle struggles to protect those he holds most dear. But otherworldly threats prove greater than Kyle could ever have anticipated. His struggle will grow into a fight for all of Rome, as he discovers the haunting secrets of his own past.

In addition to the news on the release date of the series, a new trailer has also been released for the season. You can watch it below:

“The Outcast story, although supernatural on the surface, explores how people cope with extreme circumstances while protecting the ones they love. It’s a theme with which audiences across the world can relate. I am thrilled that audiences in over 125 different countries will soon have the chance to see how Kyle, and the other residents of Rome, West Virginia, continue to deal with a town, and a world, that is rapidly becoming darker, sinister and more unpredictable in the show’s second season.” said Kirkman.

Following the premiere broadcast each Monday, Outcast will be available to watch when you want, via Foxtel on demand on internet connected iQ boxes.

The second season of Outcast premieres on Monday, April 10th at at 7.30pm AEDT.
