Scott Eastwood continues his big-budget casting run; in talks for the Pacific Rim sequel

Scott Eastwood who will play an unidentified role in the Suicide Squad film to be released later this year, has begun early talks to join the Pacific Rim sequel.

The sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 sci-fi action flick about giant robots fighting giant monsters has already signed Star Wars star John Boyega, where he will assume the role of Idris Elba’s son from the first film.

It was announced recently that Eastwood would also be joining the franchise film, F. Gary Gray’s Fast 8. His purported role in Pacific Rim 2 would mean his third big-budget role since becoming attached the Suicide Squad last year.

Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Daredevil) will direct the sequel with Del Toro to stay on as producer. Legendary and Universal on Thursday dated the long-delayed project for Feb. 23, 2018.
