Sense8: Toby Onwumere replaces Aml Ameen in Wachowskis’ Netflix Series

Deadline reported this week that Sense8‘s Aml Ameen has abruptly quit the show.

The Brish actor, who played Capheus in season one of Lilly and Lana Wachowskis’ Netflix original drama, will be replaced, for season two, by upcomer Toby Onwumere.

According to Deadline, the circumstances surrounding  Ameen’s departure are still vague but previous reports indicate a conflict of creative difference between Ameen and co-creator/executive producer/director Lana Wachowski.

Sense8 follows eight strangers around the word who are  suddenly linked mentally and emotionally. Capheus  (now played by Onwumere), is a main character in the series: a young Kenyan striving to earn money for to medicate his AIDS-stricken mother.

The series is written and produced by the Wachowski siblings and J. Michael Straczynski.

Season one of Sense8 is streaming now on Netflix.
