Star Wars Battlefront is getting a beta in October

EA have announced that they’re moving ahead with a “technical test” of DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront. The beta will launch in early October and will feature three game modes, including one brand new mode.

The beta will run on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Origin. Included in the beta package will be Walker Assault on Hoth which is a 40-player multiplayer mode that pits the Rebels against the Empire. This mode will also feature Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader as hero characters. Another featured mode will be Survival Mission on Tatooine which sees you and a friend playing as Rebels, fighting off waves of incoming Imperial units.

A new mode to appear in the beta is called Drop Zone. We don’t know much about this new mode yet but EA’s press release on the matter says we can expect more on that soon.

Star Wars Battlefront launches November 17 on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Origin.
