Tessa Thompson and Zoe Kravitz audition for leading female role in Star Wars‘ Han Solo Film

Reported by Variety yesterday, Tessa Thompson (Creed, Selma), Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) and Zoe Kravitz have all tried out for the leading female role in upcoming Han Solo film spin-off. Although the project remains untitled, the actresses all auditioned for the role of the female character in London this week.

Directors of the film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller have met up with the talent for the female character and have taken the time to get to know the actresses better. In addition, the directors have also been looking for talent to fill in the spot for character Lando Calrissian and sources have claimed that Atlanta star and creator Donald Glover has been a strong choice for the role . Production for the Han Solo film spin-off will begin in early 2017 and although the decisions seem to be clear on who has taken on the character roles, no official decision has been made and Variety has said that it could take weeks to finalise the decision for casting.

With the film being a highly-anticipated title in the industry, the process for choosing its cast has been a long process, similarly taking the same length of time when it came to the search of Christian Grey for film adaptation Fifty Shades of Grey.

The film has a U.S release on 25th May 2018
