PSA: Starting a new game in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will overwrite your old saves

Have you already run out of things to do in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and are thinking about starting a new game? Maybe your partner or sibling wants to start a game of their own? Previous Zelda titles have made allowances for situations just like these, providing up to three save slots so multiple players could track their progress without muddying the save state waters. Zelda: Breath of the Wild extends no such courtesy. Continue reading PSA: Starting a new game in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will overwrite your old saves

Video Games Review: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch, 2017) makes the act of discovery itself your greatest reward

I spent a good half an hour trying to come up with a headline for this review before settling on the one you just clicked on. I spent a lot longer trying to review the game itself — you may notice that we’re coming in rather later with this review than some of our contemporaries. The reason for this is that every time I would try to put The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild down long enough to try and actually write something about it, it would drag me back into its immersive, living world. During these periods, hours would fall off the clock and when I’d finally put the game down and tell myself it was time to work it would be dark outside. It’s been a long time since a game has held my entire life to ransom like this. It’s easy to get lost in Breath of the Wild, which is a good thing because that’s exactly what the game wants you to do. The Iris’ EB Games Expo 2016 Awards

PlayStation’s VR is almost ready to be unleashed on a public that largely has very little idea of what awaits them. That idea became a little clearer after EB Expo though, one of the general public’s first real chances to go hands-on with this beautiful piece of immersive tech, with a handful of demos designed to show off PSVR’s many different uses. One moment you’re in a cockpit desperately trying to fly in formation while enemies shoot at you, the next minute you’re in a shark cage descending to the sea bed, frantically looking around to make sure that massive great white stays the fuck away from you (it doesn’t, it’s scary as hell). The possibilities of this are so very exciting, and they overshadowed almost everything at the expo this year. Continue reading The Iris’ EB Games Expo 2016 Awards
