It seems like a bit of an unexplained mystery that The X-Files has never been released as a blu-ray boxset; that all changes this December. One of the greatest and most influential television series of all time will finally get that release fans across the world have been waiting for, right before the show is rebooted as a mini-series with the original cast. All nine seasons of the original show will be included, plus both feature-length films – The X -Files: Fight the Future and The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
The Collector’s Set will be released on December 9th in Australia with over 23 hours worth of additional content, drawn from all nine seasons and both The X-Files movies. This is the first time the entire mythology has been released on blu-ray, giving fans of the franchise a comprehensive, collected slice of television history.
Special features include behind-the-scene featurettes, commentaries by key cast including Chris Carter and Robert Patrick, exclusive deleted scenes, and more. A list of features by season is listed below.
Now is as good as a time as any to catch up to the acclaimed series before the new event series airs early next year.
