Toy Story and Avengers sneak into the Superbowl: 8 new trailers you might have missed

Whelp, this year’s Super Bowl could have definitely turned out better. The game’s finishing score unfortunately became the lowest overall points scored in Super Bowl history (13-3) since 1948’s game between The Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Cardinals (7-0), even surpassing that of Miami’s win over Washington (14-7) in 1973. At halftime, the New England Patriots were leading 3-0, and eventually scored their winning touch-down with only a remainder of 7 minutes left of the game, leaving the Los Angeles Rams on the losing side.

While fans of the New England Patriots are all still partying and knocking back some celebration beers, fans of the losing Los Angeles Rams are licking their wounds and nursing their disappointment beers. However, there was an upside to the Super Bowl this year (not including Maroon 5‘s stellar hit performance) that might cheer up those sad unlucky few still reeling from their team’s loss, and that was the release of these 8 movie trailers.

Marvel comes in first with two hot trailer releases of their upcoming films Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel. Since the last Avengers film, fans are eagerly anxious to see what will happen in the next instalment — and since the end credits scene of Infinity War hinted a certain character making an appearance, Captain Marvel is also a heavily awaited addition to the franchise for fans.

Following Marvel‘s two upcoming films is Disney Pixar’s next instalment in the Toy Story series. Toy Story 4, by the recently released trailer and now the short sneak-peak Super Bowl trailer, will at one point take place at a carnival where Buzz is stuck yet again in an awkward predicament. A quick look at the cast list and we notice a fresh face in the franchise, too — Keanu Reeves!

Among the other trailers we have Hobbs & Shaw, another instalment of the Fast & Furious series (starring the rock himself, Dwanye Johnson); Wonder Park, what looks like a fun animated film for the kids, much like Inside Out, where a child’s imagination creates wonderful things; Alita: Battle Angel, a sci-fi thrill ride of a film where the main character is a cyborg; Us, another chilling creation from Jordan Peele (writer and director of 2017 film Get Out); and lastly, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, a film based on children books under the same name, produced and written by Guillermo del Torro (The Shape of Water, Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth).
