Vivid Sydney 2014 Breaks Attendance Records Again!

Vivid Sydney has once again proven that the arts are en vogue, with more than 1.43 million people – that’s more than the population of Adelaide – attending the 18 day light, music and ideas festival. The number breaks the record set in 2013 by 79 percent.

On this news, NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Andrew Stoner said, “Vivid visitors came from across our State, throughout Australia and from around the world. There were more than 19,500 international travellers on Vivid Sydney travel packages, up 74 per cent on 2013, which is fantastic for our tourism industry during what was once a quiet winter period.”

“Local retailers also benefited from the bumper attendance numbers, with many operators reporting huge increases in patronage due to Vivid.”

The festival – which is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere – also so its social media position soar. Vivid’s Official Facebook page received over 870,000 likes, reaching an average of 2.8 million people per day and more than 3.4 million on launch day. more facts and figures from the successful seas are below.
