Xbox One S 2TB console gets Australia pricing and release date

Microsoft have announced 2TB model of their new, slimline Xbox One S console will arrive in Australia in early August. The computing giant also announced local pricing for the updated console.

The 2TB Xbox One S will debut in Australia on August 2 and retail for AU$549. Also announced was a special Gears of War 4 Xbox One S bundle which will feature a Gears-inspired exterior and controllers. The bundle will retail for AU$599.

The device, which was formally announced during the Xbox press event at E3 last month, is 40 percent smaller than the current Xbox One console, features an interior power supply, a redesigned Xbox One Wireless Controller and sports a new IR blaster for better connectivity and accessibility. The big difference between the Xbox One S and its predecessor is that the new console will be capable of outputting video in 4K resolution.

While the Xbox One S will only be coming in a 2TB model at launch, at the time of writing Microsoft have not yet made a statement regarding smaller hard drive sizes.

The Xbox One S is currently available for preorder from the Microsoft Store and most major electronics retailers around the nation.
