The Walking Dead‘s Season 7 trailer is here to provide you with no answers, Ezekiel, and a tiger

The Walking Dead fans are either still reeling from the Season 6 finale’s vague cliffhanger, or are confident they know who was on the receiving end of Negan’s bloody barb-wired baseball bat/inanimate love interest. One things for sure though, we’re all holding out for a definitive answer, as soul-crushing as the reveal may be. Fan theories have consistently held onto the tension from February, and undoubtedly the investigation will intensify now that the long-awaited trailer for Season 7 is here.

Keeping with tradition, the trailer was revealed at The Walking Dead panel as part of the San Diego Comic-Con, causing ripples over the weekend but ultimately providing us with no answers to that question, just a whole lot of emotional toying. Thankfully, after a few reflective pieces to flare tension take up the first half of the trailer, we are treated to vague scenes from what looks like another explosive season for the highly rated show.

The characters shown are limited to the ones that were not part of Negan’s death line-up (Carol, Morgan, Enid, Spencer, Dwight, Olivia, Tara, Heath, and of course, Negan himself) but they are enough to give us a look into a rapidly expanding world which will be bringing in new faces and giving the show another necessary refresh.

Of particular note is our first look at Ezekiel, a major comic book character who has a special place in the hearts and minds of TWD comic fans around the world. Ezekiel is revealed to be the leader of a community called “The Kingdom”, seemingly where Morgan and Carol end up after their finale fate meeting with custom-made armour wearing dudes on horses. He also has a pet tiger, which we see in the trailer in all it’s snarling animatronic glory.

The Walking Dead Season 7 will premiere on Sunday 23rd October at 9pm in the U.S. Which traditionally means that we’ll be getting it at the same time in Australia on Monday 24th October on FX (Foxtel) at 1:30pm and 7:30pm (AEST).
