Home and Away
Seven – 7.00pm AEST
The tawdry life and times of the impossibly good looking inhabitants of Summer Bay have been taking over our TV screens since who even remembers when, and will probably continue to do so until an unrelenting tidal wave (or similar disaster) wipes out the town once and for all. In tonight’s episode new mum Ricky hates on spending time with her baby son, but it’s okay because resident “we’ve been on this show forever” couple Marilyn and John are more than happy to creepily dote on someone else’s kid. Thrilling stuff.

If seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron has left you wanting more outings on the big screen with the Marvel superheroes, you can sate your appetite by catching the latest season of the animated series Avengers Assemble. The second season of the popular cartoon sees Ant-Man (who is about to get his own film on July 16) joining regular Avengers Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Falcon to take on the megalomaniacal robot Ultron. At first glance this animated series may appear to be strictly kids fare, but we assure you that you’ll quickly be hooked.

The Silence Of The Lambs
Foxtel Movies Thriller – 10.45pm AEST
Before you catch the third season of popular TV drama Hannibal, take a trip down memory lane to revisit the first film appearance of the infamous serial killer/cannibal Hannibal Lecter, The Silence Of The Lambs. Starring Anthony Hopkins in his most famous role, the film sees the man with a penchant for human flesh paired up with fledgling FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) to track down a new and dangerous killer “Buffalo Bill” (Ted Levine). An absolute classic.

Showcase – 7.30pm AEST
Much of humanity often debates what the cause of a third world war would be, whether they be the brightest of intellectuals sitting in the UN cafeteria or a couple of lower class mates down at the pub. But I bet when these people discussed the war, they never thought it would involve funny man Jack Black. Well the brand new comedy The Brink shows us what that would look like, as it centres on a geopolitical crisis that is poorly dealt with by hapless US Foreign Service officer Alex Coppins (Black). Also starring Academy Award winner Tim Robbins and Orange Is The New Black’s Pablo Schreiber, The Brink is destined to be your new favourite comedy.
